“Nuns are boring,” said no Catholic ever…and now you can carry (or frame) a reminder of the most un-boring Sister we know: Mother Angelica! Designed in the style of classic baseball cards, these “heavy cards” from Spirit Juice are crafted from artisan-grade 32pt (380lb) cardstock and are designed to take a beating, endure some wear, and survive the little hands of our saints in training (our children, of course)! What can I say? We’re passionate about paper…and quality…and evangelization!
Our small and medium prints don't just look good, they feel good...exuding a tangible quality and long-lasting reminder of Mother Angelica’s ministry. The small size is exactly credit card-sized, meaning it will easily fit in a wallet or as a bookmark in your bible, hymnal, liturgy of the hours, or missal. The medium size is perfect for framing, but they'll also sit nicely on a desk or keep your page in your favorite book all while maintaining their structural rigidity and standing up to recurring use and daily life (unlike lesser-quality paper stocks). On the back of these small and medium prints, we include a beautifully designed reminder of the saint's life; their birth and death, notable information, and a reminder of why we look to them as examples of holiness and Godliness. Stickers are permanent vinyl stickers that are dishwasher safe and designed to withstand some abuse!
This design is part of our ongoing "Patrons of Media" collection.
Mother Angelica
Born: April 20, 1923 | Died: March 27, 2016
Bio: Mother Angelica’s childhood was a severe one. From living through the Great Depression to her parish priest dying at the hands of the mob to the divorce of her parents, Mother Angelica knew suffering. She also struggled with various physical illnesses, including water on her knees, which was miraculously healed after she became a Franciscan sister. In March 1978, Mother Angelica visited a Baptist-run television station, and said “Lord, I gotta have one of these!” Later, with $200 and twelve cloistered nuns, she built a space for a television studio, and EWTN was born. In 1984, Mother’s show “Mother Angelica Live” became the only religious show to be nominated for an Award for Cable Excellence. Pope John Paul II calls Mother Angelica a “strong woman, courageous woman, charismatic woman.” At the end of her life, Mother Angelica endured many physical calamities as she did at the beginning of her life. After a stroke, she said "I've never had in all my life such an awareness that God was choosing me to help people. This is to bring people to a new reality that suffering is brought by God to make us holy."
